The Presentation Sisters, an apostolic religious community of Catholic women, have sponsored hospitals, nursing homes and schools of nursing in the region for more than a century. Since September 2000, Avera Health has been co-sponsored by the Presentation Sisters of Aberdeen, S.D., and the Benedictine Sisters of Yankton, S.D.
