Sister Ann Foley, 88, a Sister of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, died April 7, 2017 at the Presentation Convent, Aberdeen, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial for Sister Ann Foley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Presentation Convent, Aberdeen,  SD. Reverend  Joseph Sheehan will be celebrant and homilist. The Liturgical Wake service will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Visitation will begin at   4 p.m.  Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S Main Street, is in charge of arrangements.  Internment at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Ann Elizabeth Foley was born March 11, 1929 in Madison, SD to Eva (Terwilliger) and John Foley.   She graduated from Eastern High School in Madison, SD in 1947 and Presentation School of Nursing, St. Joseph Hospital, Mitchell, SD in 1950.  Ann entered Presentation Convent on September 8, 1950 and made her first profession of vows August 10, 1953. During these years she also attended Presentation College in Aberdeen. 

Sister Ann’s ministry as a Registered Nurse spanned from 1953 to 2007 in areas of South Dakota, Minnesota and Montana.  She ministered in various departments in hospitals, including surgical, medical and pediatrics, as well as serving in assisted living and nursing home facilities.  Toward the end of her career, she specialized in working with Alzheimer patients. During retirement at the Presentation Convent she served in Prayer Ministry and enjoyed doing various crafts, baking, traveling, puzzles and reading.             

Sister Ann is survived by her community family of Presentation Sisters; her sister Carol Neises, Littleton, CO; her brother Chuck Foley, Delta CO, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Eva and John Foley; two brothers, Maurice Foley and Joseph Foley and sister, Loretta Kreul. 

Knights of Columbus will serve as casket bearers.
