Warm a Neighbor Boy 2016Caminando Juntos, a Hispanic ministry of the Presentation Sisters, was pleased to partner with Life 96.5 radio station and Sioux Falls Hy-Vee stores for the second year in a row to “Warm a Neighbor”. Caring people with warm hearts donated over 350 hats, gloves, scarfs and socks to help in warming the Hispanic people, who relocate to Sioux Falls, and may not prepared for the harshness of the our regions winter climate. These items will help provide cold weather accessories for the men, women and children who visit the ministry center for assistance.

Items are currently being distributed at Caminando Juntos, setting the stage for many heartwarming stories. Sister Gabriella Crowley, who ministers with the people at Caminando Juntos, expressed the generosity and kind heart of a homeless man who was given gloves and in return brought in items “pay it forward”. She also talked about a little boy whose eyes “lit up” when he eyed a flannel scarf with “Minions” on it and how excited he was to be able go home with it.Caminando_WarmANeighbor_recipient

Many clients of Caminando Juntos couldn’t believe that these regalos (gifts) were for them from the very generous people in the Life 96.5 listening area. These gifts would help them and their families stay a little warmer during the coldest time of the year in South Dakota.

The Presentation Sisters and the staff at Caminando Juntos appreciate all who made this such a wonderful experience of community outreach. Learn More about Caminando Juntos HERE.
