Presentation spirituality is animated by the spirit of Nano
Nagle whose life and love was absorbed into the heart of Jesus.
Out of Nano’s love for Christ grew her whole approach
to life, especially her response to the poor. Her love inspired
her first companions and continues to be the vision that leads
her daughters into service of others.
Today, the Presentation Sisters respond to
God as a faith community in the universal Church. Reflecting
the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in their lives, the
sisters express and foster their bond of unity and mission through
daily participation in the Eucharist.
Devotion to
the Sacred Heart
Jesus says, “Learn from me for I am
meek and humble of heart.” Mt 11:29 Nano inspired her
sisters to practice the relational virtues of humility, patience,
simplicity and gentleness. To practice these virtues was to
learn from the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Their love for Jesus translated
into practical care for those most in need through education
and attending to the daily needs of life.
Devotion to Mary
The Presentation Sisters are dedicated to
the Blessed Virgin Mary. The sisters pray to become like her,
faithfully open and responsive to the Holy Spirit.
The Presentation Sisters look to Mary for
inspiration and dedication. Legend has it that when Mary was
three years old, her parents dedicated her to God. She was "presented"
in the temple. Mary danced up the steps with joy in the presence
and service of God. Following this example of Mary, the Presentation
Sisters serve with a spirit of joy.
