Biography:

Sister Roxanne Seifert (Sy-fert) is a vowed member of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Presentation Sisters), Aberdeen, So. Dak. Presentation Sisters willingly go forth to any part of the world to work for justice, alleviate oppression and promote human dignity, especially among the poor. Through their ministry efforts they have a special focus on alleviating oppression and promoting human dignity among women and children.

Sister Roxanne earned a bachelor’s degree in 1990 from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, MN. For more than a decade she worked in research and development of medical products and processes at Hutchinson Technology Inc., headquarters, (Hutchinson, MN). She is the co-author of two journal publications related to this work (see end of document).

In 2002 she began exploring a possible call to consecrated religious life. Since that time, she has served in a variety of ministries including vocation outreach, chaplaincy, grant writing, lay crisis counseling, and liturgical music ministry. Since 2007 she has been dedicated to Catholic healthcare ministry, serving in operational, governance, and sponsorship roles. In 2022, Sister Roxanne was installed as an elected member of the congregational leadership team and was appointed as the congregation’s General Treasurer. In addition, she is a current member of the Avera Health and Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Services Boards of Directors (Sioux Falls, So. Dak.).

In July 2024 she was appointed to an initial-three-year-term as a member of Caring for Life Catholic Health Ministries, the Ministerial Public Juridic Person of Avera Health (Sioux Falls, So. Dak.). From 2018 to 2024 she was an Avera System Member, serving as Chairperson from 2021 to 2023.

Over the years she has been honored to serve on several boards, including EmBe (Sioux Falls and Mitchell, So. Dak.), Abbott House (Mitchell, So. Dak.), Avera Queen of Peace Foundation (Mitchell, So. Dak.) Avera Sacred Heart Hospital (Yankton, So. Dak.) and Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center (Marshall, Minn She has served as a cantor, instrumentalist, and liturgy consultant in her vowed religious community and in parishes.
