Each year, from September 1 through October 4, Christians around the world celebrate the Season of Creation. This year, we invite you on a virtual pilgrimage praying and reflecting on the Via Creatonis – The Way of Creation. Throughout these five weeks, you will have seven opportunities to spend a few minutes honoring the mystery of creation.

In Celebration of the Season of Creation

Today, on October 4, we commemorate the end of the Season of Creation. For the past five weeks, we’ve invited you to join us on a virtual pilgrimage, praying and reflecting on the Via Creatonis – The Way of Creation. This last video blends together all our meditations and prayers, honoring the mystery of creation. We welcome you to pause, reflect and give gratitude for all. May our actions continue to uplift and support one another and Mother Earth.

The Goodness of Everything

God looked at everything he had made and found it very good … God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work he had done in creation.

Genesis (1:31, 2:3)

The Goodness of Land Creatures

Then God said: Let the earth bring forth every kind of living creature: tame animals, crawling things, and every kind of wild animal … God saw that it was good. Then God said: Let us make human beings in our image, after our likeness.

Genesis (1:24-26)

The Goodness of Water and Air Creatures

Then God said: Let the water teem with an abundance of living creatures, and on the earth, let birds fly beneath the dome of the sky … God saw that it was good.

Genesis (1:20-21)

The Goodness of Celestial Bodies

Then God said: Let there be lights in the dome of the sky … two great lights, the greater one to govern the day, and the lesser one to govern the night … God saw that it was good.

Genesis (1:14, 16, 18)

The Goodness of Earth, Sea and Plants

Then God said: Let the water under the sky be gathered into a single basin, so that the dry land may appear … God called the dry land “earth,” and the basin of water he called “sea.” Then God said: Let the earth bring forth vegetation: every kind of plant that bears seed and every kind of fruit tree … God saw that it was good.

Genesis (1:9-12)

The Goodness of Sky

Then God said: Let there be a dome…God called the dome “sky.”
Genesis (1:6, 8)

The Goodness of Light

In the beginning… God said: Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good. God then separated the light from the darkness.
Genesis (1:1, 3-4)
