Biography:

Sister Esther graduated from Presentation School of Nursing, Aberdeen, SD and earned a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist degree from the Detroit Anesthesia School, Detroit, MI. Sister Esther served as a teacher and Pediatric Supervisor at (Avera) McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. She went on to become an anesthetist at (Avera) McKennan, (Avera) St. Luke’s, Aberdeen, SD and Holy Rosary in Miles City, MT. Sister Esther also worked in ICU and CCU and Prem ICU at Alta Bates Hospital, CA. After 1974, she ministered in pastoral care, home visiting, and volunteering. Sister Esther resided at Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls before retiring to Presentation Convent in Aberdeen where she continued doing crafts and various kinds of handiwork.
