Biography:

Sister Joan has been involved in the Presentation Sister’s Healthcare ministries since 1960. She served as a medical technologist, a registered nurse and Director of Mission Effectiveness in health care facilities in Miles City, MT; O’Fallon, MO and Mitchell, Sioux Falls and Aberdeen SD.

Although she no longer works directly with patients, Sister continues to be part of the healing ministry of Jesus. As one of the six Sisters System Members of Avera, Sister Joan works to ensure that the region's largest health system’s policies and procedures are in line with the sponsors’ missions and values. She also serves as the Executive Vice President of Culture for Avera and as a member of the board of directors for Avera McKennan, Sioux Falls, SD; Avera Queen of Peace, Mitchell, SD and Avera Marshall, Marshall, MN.
