Biography:

Sister Helen earned a bachelor’s degree in music education and history from Alverno College, Milwaukee, WI, as well as a master’s degree in music education from Catholic University in Washington DC.

Sister served as a music and choir teacher in Humboldt, Aberdeen, Madison, Sioux Falls and Dell Rapids SD, and Anoka and Willmar, MN for 32 years. In 1980, Sister Helen became the religious education coordinator in Guerrero, Mexico. She returned to Aberdeen in 1997 and served as a mission fundraiser, congregational organist and author before returning to mission work. In 2002, Sister Helen and three other Presentation Sisters began Caminando Juntos an outreach ministry with the Latino population in the Sioux Falls, SD area. Sister Helen is currently an active member of the prayer ministry.
