Biography:

Sister JoAnn began her healthcare ministry as head nurse at (Avera) St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen, SD and (Avera) McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. She then became patient care director at (Avera) McKennan. Sister JoAnn was called to leadership with the Presentation Sisters in 1970, serving as vice president and then president of the congregation. In 1983, Sister began working in parish ministry in Montebello, CA, and Los Angeles Archdiocesan Diaconate. She moved back to South Dakota in 1989, and served at St. Mary Parish in Sioux Falls, SD. Upon becoming licensed, Sister JoAnn began her current ministry as a PRH (Personality and Human Relations) educator. Sister ministered in Sioux Falls, SD and Minneapolis, MN before serving as part-time service coordinator for senior housing at Penelope Apartments in Bloomington, MN. From 2008 to the present, she has served as a PRH Educator in Dell Rapids, SD and Sioux Falls, SD, where she lives currently.
