Wednesday of the Second Week of Lent

I am the light of the world, says the Lord;
whoever follows me will have the light of life. John 8:12

We ask God to save us in his kindness and need to remember that we also must share compassion with those we meet, even with the smallest encounters. Take a moment to spread your joy by saying hello to a stranger and sharing a smile.

The importance of serving others is led by example as Jesus taught us. As mothers we are always trying to do the best for our children, but we must teach the value of doing the work every day rather than just asking for the reward at the end.

God of kindness,
During this Lenten season,
we ask that you guide us in the path of example
that we follow in your foot steps to serve others.
May you direct us to be less self-seeking and
put the needs of others before our own.
Allow us to let go of our fears and
trust in the way of your will.

Amen.

Think about how we can be servants to others and show kindness in our daily lives as we continue our Lenten journey.
